About Merv

Merv became a Director of Taylor Byrne after the merger of Cosgraves Property Advisers into Taylor Byrne in September 2015, having been with Cosgraves since 2002.

Merv has a broad knowledge and extensive experience in the provision of valuation services to the Government sector at Local, State and Commonwealth levels, and has also provided valuations of all types of properties to the banking sector and other clients. His expertise extends to a number of specialised areas including rating and taxing, family law, asset management, taxation insurance, financial reporting, compensation and acquisition, and litigation as well as mortgage security.

Merv is a Certified Practising Valuer (CPV) and has undertaken valuations of varied types of real estate including residential, rural (including water assets), commercial, industrial and specialist primary production properties, businesses comprising rent rolls, hotels, motels, caravan parks, nursing homes, special accommodation homes and service stations.

Merv has provided viability assessments of primary production enterprises and broad range of businesses including those involved in retail, manufacturing, tourism and service industries; valuation of water assets in NSW and Victoria.

Merv is actively involved in the Australian Property Institute (API), including holding executive positions in the API Albury Wodonga Discussion Group (past two years as Chairman), regular attendance at API professional development seminars, conferences and workshops.
