Privacy

In order for Taylor Byrne Pty Limited ACN 010317432 to effectively provide services to our customers, we collect certain personal information. We recognise that your privacy is very important to you and we are committed to protecting your personal information. This policy sets out how we collect, manage and use personal information.

Collection of Personal Information

The main kinds of personal information we collect are names, contact details and addresses. We may also collect information such as identification numbers which may be unique to a particular transaction, matter or client. Whilst such information may not on its own be used to identify you, we nevertheless treat this information as personal information.

Due to the nature of the services we provide, we often collect personal information from someone other than the individual concerned. Usually such information is collected through an intermediary or representative such as a financial institution (or their representative), solicitor or accountant.

If you provide us with personal information about someone else, such as a client or prospective client, you must ensure that you have their consent to disclose their information to us. You should also take reasonable steps such that the individual concerned is aware of the various matters dealt with in this policy, as it is not always practicable for us to notify the individual.

We may also collect personal information through publically available records such as company, local authority and real property searches.

There may be circumstances where we collect personal information directly from the individual concerned, for example, when an individual applies for prospective employment or contracting opportunities with us. In such circumstances, the personal information we collect may also include employment history and current occupation details, and any other personal information submitted to us in connection with a job application.

Use and Disclosure of Personal Information

We collect personal information for the purpose of identifying the property which is the subject of a valuation request or in relation to which our expertise is otherwise sought. We may also use such information in order to arrange access to or inspection of the property, and for any other ancillary purposes relevant to the services we provide.

Where personal information was given to us for another specific purpose, such as a job application, we will only use the personal information for that purpose.

So that we may use your personal information for these purposes, we may disclose it to external providers of services such as software providers. We may also outsource certain functions of our business, including IT support, and your personal information may be disclosed to and stored by third parties where we do so.

In addition to these disclosures, we may disclose your personal information to the extent that we are required to do so by law, including in connection with any legal proceedings or prospective legal proceedings, in order to comply with any legal obligation, or to establish, exercise or defend our legal rights.

Cross-Border Disclosures

We do not, and do not presently intend to, disclose or transfer any personal information to overseas recipients. If at some point in the future this position changes, we will take reasonable steps to notify you.

Security and Storage

We endeavour to take all reasonable steps to keep secure any information we store about you. Personal information we collect is stored in secure electronic databases and where applicable, paper documents. We take steps to ensure that our IT and software providers also have measures in place to keep secure servers on which they may store the personal information we collect.

Your Right to Access and Amend Information About You

We take reasonable steps to ensure that the personal information we collect, use and disclose in accordance with this privacy policy is accurate, complete and up-to-date.

If we hold your personal information you are entitled to access the information which is subsequently handled by us or request correction of such information. There are exceptional circumstances where access to or correction of your personal information may be refused by us such as where access would be unlawful. We will advise you of such circumstances if they arise. If you would like access or request correction of your personal information, please contact us via the details below.
